Early years the engine had a large 'ram's horn' exhaust manifold, but around 2010 it was replaced with a small catalytic converter manifold. When the catalyst disintegrates, particles enter the cylinders and scratch the walls.
This is an aluminum engine with an open cooling jacket and thin-walled liners, which are not very rigid. Under very active use or frequent overheating, cylinders can become oval, leading to progressive oil consumption.
For calm drivers, the timing chain lasts well, usually replaced after 200,000 km. However, if the engine is constantly revved high, life halves. Also, dirty oil often causes the hydraulic tensioner to fail and seize.
Minor issues: weak tensioner causes alternator belt squeal, engine mounts have short life, oil leaks from under the valve cover are common, and idle fluctuations due to dirty throttle body or fuel injectors.
